Manual Osteopathy aims to be as gentle and as pain free as possible with all assessments and treatments. It is uncommon, but some minor soreness in the following hours or first 1-2 days following a treatment session may occur.
Treatment will always include an in-depth assessment of muscle function. Treatment and assessment are always performed together, and are ongoing during the session.
Most patients who will have meaningful improvement will start to see progress in 1-2 sessions.
Generally, the longer an issue has been around, the more treatment it will require.
Please wear comfortable/loose clothing, ideally clothing that can stretch and does not restrict movement of any limbs or joints.
No, treatment is always performed over top of any clothing. If treatment is required on any sensitive areas such as the buttocks/glutes or upper chest, consent will be acquired first.
Most health insurance plans in Ontario cover Manual Osteopathy.
We are not currently covered by Canada Life. Please check with your benefits provider if you are looking to use your benefits to cover treatment.
At this time, we are currently only treating individuals aged 16 and over. Those under 18 years of age who are seeking treatment must have a parent or guardian present at appointments, and must have a parent or guardian able to sign consent forms.
We do not require a physician's referral in order for patients to book an appointment, but we always welcome and appreciate referrals.
Out of respect for the practitioners and other potential patients, we ask that you cancel no later than 24 hours before the start time of your appointment.
If there is an emergency situation that requires a cancellation, we aim to be understanding and sympathetic to your circumstances.
Please note that any cancellation or no-show within the given time window may incur a fee up to the full cost of the appointment.
